Delete your Nido account
You can delete your Nido account yourself, from the web or from the mobile app. You do not need to email us, and you do not need to cancel a subscription first — deletion cancels it.
How to request deletion
- Sign in at nido.day, or open the Nido app.
- Go to Settings → Data & privacy.
- Choose Delete account and confirm with your password.
Signed in already? Go straight to Settings → Data & privacy.
On the same screen you can first request a copy of your household's data as a JSON file — worth doing before you delete, because after the erasure there is nothing left to export.
What happens next
There is a 30-day grace period. Your account is locked the moment you ask — signed out on every device, and unusable — but nothing is erased yet. Signing back in during that window lets you cancel the request. After 30 days the erasure runs and is irreversible: we cannot restore an account from backups afterwards.
What the erasure covers depends on whether anyone else is in your household:
- If you are the only parent, the whole household goes: every child's profile, photo and birth date; all chores, completions, eggs, rewards and redemptions; the events you created; your connected Google Calendar; and every parent account on it.
- If another parent remains, only your own account is deleted. The household, your children's profiles, and the family history stay with them — they are that family's records too.
The erasure also revokes Nido's access to your Google account and cancels any active subscription.
What we keep, and for how long
- Encrypted backups may still contain your data for up to 30 days after deletion, then age out. We do not restore deleted accounts from backups.
- Billing records (invoices and payment records) are kept as long as tax and accounting law requires. Card details are held by our payment processor, never by us.
If you cannot sign in
Email hello@digitalindoorsmen.com from the address on the account and we will handle the deletion for you. We may need to verify that the account is yours before erasing it.
Full detail on what we collect and how long we hold it is in our Privacy Policy.
